# Welcome to the Hirify documentation

> What Hirify does, what it doesn't, and where to start

Hirify records your interviews, transcribes them, and turns them into structured interview notes. This page covers what the product does, what it doesn't do, and where to start.

## What Hirify does

**It records the interview, whatever the channel.** Everything starts from the **Dashboard** and its **Start an interview** section. You can choose between several options:

* **Paste a Meet or Teams link**: the meeting assistant joins your video meeting.
* **Schedule by email**: invite the meeting assistant straight from your calendar.
* **In person**: record a face-to-face meeting on your phone by scanning a QR code.
* **Upload audio**: transcribe an interview you already recorded by uploading its audio file.
* **Call**: phone a candidate directly.

**It transcribes and separates the voices.** Each turn is attributed to a speaker. You then name the speakers, and the interview notes take those names into account.

**It writes the interview notes.** A processed interview opens on three views:

* **Notes**: the interview notes themselves.
* **Key takeaways**: a short version.
* **Transcript**: the word-for-word record.

The interview notes follow the template you chose.

**It analyzes the candidate.** The **Analysis** panel brings together what the interview and the CV say about the candidate, the points to review, and the deal-breakers. A **Legal watch-outs** section appears when the interview touched on a discrimination criterion.

**It connects to your tools.** Google or Outlook calendar, your applicant tracking system (ATS), and a browser extension.

**It opens up your talent pool.** From the Hub plan, the sidebar gains four entries:

* **Assistant**: ask questions about your data in plain language.
* **Sourcing**: find the profiles in your talent pool that match a job.
* **Analytics**: build your own dashboards.
* **Data reliability**: track the quality of your data.

## What Hirify doesn't do

<Warning>
  By default, interview notes don't go to your ATS on their own, and neither does the evaluation that comes with them. Hirify prepares them, you review them, and you decide to send them.
</Warning>

* **By default, it doesn't send your interview notes or your evaluation to your ATS without your approval.** You review them, then send them from the interview's ATS panel. Two writes do happen on their own after the analysis: summary tags added to the candidate's profile, and custom fields that were still empty getting filled in. With the Teamtailor Hirify card, a third setting can also send the analysis and the interview notes as soon as the interview ends. These settings are off by default. Only an administrator or a billing admin can turn them on. See [ATS automations](/en/integrations/ats-automations).
* **It doesn't send any message to your candidates.** No email, no text message, no follow-up. An outreach message drafted in Hirify is yours to send from your own tools.
* **It doesn't look for profiles outside your talent pool.** Sourcing works on the candidates already in your data.
* **It doesn't decide for you.** The analysis informs a decision. It doesn't make it.

## How this documentation is organized

Each page covers one task. The sidebar groups follow the order in which you'll come across the product.

* **Getting started**: your workspace, your team, roles, and transcript accuracy.
* **Record an interview**: the ways to record, then tracking and reviewing.
* **Interview notes and analysis**: templates, reading, editing, and exporting.
* **Connect your tools**: calendar, ATS, and browser extension.
* **Calling**: get a phone line and make calls.
* **Use your talent pool**: Assistant, Sourcing, and Analytics.
* **Your account**: plans, members, subscription, and notifications.
* **Trust**: what to tell your candidates, your data, and the role of AI.

The **Help** tab gathers the FAQ and the troubleshooting pages.

## Good to know

* What you see depends on your plan and your role. Assistant, Sourcing, and Analytics are available from the Hub plan. Analytics and Data reliability also require the administrator or manager role. The details are in [Plans and access](/en/account/plans-and-access).
* A member only sees their own interviews. Managers and administrators see the interviews of the whole organization.
* An organization can have only one active ATS connection at a time.
* No email tells you that an interview has been processed. Your interview list updates by itself, without reloading the page, and the **Notifications** center keeps a record of every finished transcript and every finished set of interview notes.
* Boond Manager shows as **Coming soon** in the app and can't be connected yet.
* On data collection and the use of AI, read [Your data](/en/trust/your-data) and [AI at Hirify](/en/trust/ai-at-hirify).
