# Install the Chrome extension

> Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store and connect it to your Hirify account

The extension opens Hirify in a side panel of your browser. You start an interview and query your talent pool without switching tabs.

## Install the extension

    On the **Dashboard**, in the **Go further** section, the **Hirify in your browser** card reads: "Record and transcribe your interviews straight from Chrome, without leaving your ATS." Click **Install the extension**.

    The Chrome Web Store opens in a new tab, on the Hirify listing. Start the installation from that page.

    Once the extension is installed, pin its icon to the Chrome toolbar. It opens and closes the side panel.

## Connect the extension to your account

  The extension panel is displayed in French. Its labels are given below as they appear, with their meaning in parentheses.

The first time you open it, the panel shows a **Connexion** (sign in) screen. You can take one of two paths:

* **Se connecter avec Hirify** (sign in with Hirify): the shortest. Your browser sends you to your Hirify workspace to sign in, then the panel opens on your account.
* **Options avancées** (advanced options): expand it at the bottom of the screen if the first path fails (expired session, restrictive browser). Then sign in with an access token.

## Sign in with an access token

The token is a personal key created in Hirify that identifies you to the extension.

    Open **Settings**, then **Security**. The **Access tokens** section says: "Create a personal token to connect the browser extension or the API to your account. The token is shown only once." Click **Create a token**.

    Give it a name that means something to you, such as "Chrome extension". Confirm with **Create**.

  <Step title="Copy the value shown">
    The **Your new token** window shows the key only once. Copy it, then click **Done**.

    In the extension, under **Options avancées**, paste the key into the **Jeton d'accès** (access token) field and click **Se connecter par jeton** (sign in with token).

<Warning>
  A token gives access to your account. Don't share it and don't paste it into a shared document. If in doubt, revoke it: in **Settings**, **Security**, click the delete icon next to the token, then **Revoke**. Any application using it loses access immediately.

## What you can do from the panel

Once you're signed in, the panel offers two tabs.

* **Assistant**: ask your talent pool questions, just as in the app. See [Ask a question](/en/assistant/ask-a-question).
* **Entretiens** (interviews): find your recent interviews and open one to review it.

The **Démarrer** (start) button starts a new interview without going back to the app. You choose between **Visioconférence** (video meeting), **Entretien en présentiel** (in-person interview), and **Appel téléphonique** (phone call). The three channels and what each one requires are described in [Choose how to record](/en/interviews/choose-how-to-record).

On a SmartRecruiters candidate profile, the panel shows the matching Hirify profile at the top when there is one.

## Good to know

* The extension is installed from the Chrome Web Store. It isn't distributed as a file.
* If your plan doesn't include phone calls, the option stays visible in the creation menu but is inactive, marked "indisponible" (unavailable). See [Make a call](/en/calling/make-a-call).
* Matching with a candidate profile currently only works on SmartRecruiters pages. Other ATSs don't show this banner.
* The extension doesn't replace the app. Templates, analysis, Sourcing, and Analytics stay in Hirify.
* The access token is shown only once. If you lose it, it can't be recovered. Create a new one and revoke the old one.
* Installing the extension doesn't exempt you from informing the candidate before any recording.
