Hirify keeps your ATS and talent pool in sync continuously. After the initial import, data flows in both directions on an ongoing basis — your ATS pushes new candidates and status changes into Hirify, and Hirify pushes structured interview enrichments back into your ATS. This page explains exactly what moves in each direction, how often syncs run, and what happens when both systems have conflicting data for the same field.

Hirify uses different sync mechanisms depending on the direction and urgency of the data:

Real-time Enrichment Write-back

When a recruiter completes and validates an interview in Hirify, enriched fields are written to the ATS within a few minutes. No manual action is required — the sync triggers automatically on interview completion.

Polling Sync (ATS → Hirify)

Hirify polls your ATS every 15 minutes to pick up new candidates, updated profiles, and pipeline status changes. This keeps Hirify’s talent pool current without requiring a webhook setup on your ATS.

Field Mapping

Hirify writes enriched data into standard custom fields in your ATS. During the initial connection setup, you can configure exactly which Hirify field maps to which ATS field — useful if your ATS already has custom fields for skills or availability that your team relies on. Default mappings are pre-configured for each supported ATS so that the integration works immediately without any configuration. You can review and adjust mappings at any time in Settings > Integrations > [Your ATS] > Field Mapping.
If your ATS does not support a particular custom field type (for example, a structured multi-value field for skills), Hirify falls back to writing the data as a formatted text block. The exact fallback format is shown in the field mapping configuration screen.

Conflict Resolution

A sync conflict occurs when the same field has been edited in both Hirify and your ATS since the last sync completed. Hirify is designed to never silently overwrite a manual edit — every conflict is surfaced to the recruiter for an explicit decision. When Hirify detects a conflict:
  1. The affected candidate’s profile in Hirify displays a conflict notice with the two differing values side by side.
  2. The recruiter selects which version to keep — the Hirify value or the ATS value.
  3. Hirify applies the chosen value to both systems on the next sync, resolving the conflict.
Unresolved conflicts do not block other fields from syncing. Only the conflicted field is held pending resolution.
If you update a candidate’s salary expectation in both Hirify and your ATS before a sync cycle completes, you’ll see a conflict notice on the candidate’s Hirify profile. Open the profile, review both values, and select the correct one — Hirify will propagate your choice to both systems automatically.
Conflicts must be resolved before a new interview enrichment for the same field is written back to the ATS. If a conflict on the salary field is left open and a new interview captures a fresh salary figure, Hirify will queue the new write-back until you resolve the existing conflict first.
