Not every recording is an interview. A client check-in, a team debrief, or an internal meeting can be recorded through the same channels (video meeting, in person, or upload) without producing a candidate analysis that would make no sense. Hirify detects these meetings and adapts what it generates.

How detection works

Classification is automatic. After transcription, Hirify looks at the content of the conversation and decides whether it’s a hiring interview or a meeting. When in doubt, the recording is treated as an interview. Some cases never go through detection:
  • An interview linked to an application in your ATS is always treated as an interview.
  • A manual choice is final. A recording you reclassified yourself will never be reclassified automatically again.

What a meeting gets

A meeting keeps most of the processing, without the candidate part:
  • Notes suited to a meeting: the Meeting notes template organizes the summary into context and participants, topics discussed, decisions, and action items. You can regenerate the notes with another template if you prefer.
  • The transcript and Key takeaways: available as for an interview.
  • No candidate analysis: the Analysis panel shows No analysis generated, with the reason for the classification.
  • No ATS transfer: nothing is offered for sending to your ATS.
A meeting also stays out of your interview statistics, Sourcing, and candidate history.

Spot meetings in the list

In the list of recordings, a meeting has the Meeting badge. The Category filter lets you show only interviews or only meetings.

Reclassify a meeting as an interview

If a recording classified as a meeting was actually an interview, open its page. A Non-hiring meeting banner flags it at the top of the page.
1

Click Analyze anyway

The button is in the banner, and also in the Analysis panel.
2

Let the analysis run again

The recording is reclassified as an interview and the full processing starts over: candidate analysis, signals, and ATS panel.
This reclassification is final. The recording won’t switch back to a meeting automatically.

Turn off detection

An administrator can turn off detection for the whole organization. In Settings → Integrations, under Non-hiring meetings, turn off Automatic detection. All recordings then go through the standard interview processing.

Good to know

  • Detection is on by default.
  • On the page of a recording classified as a meeting, the Analysis panel shows whether the classification was automatic or manual.
  • The channel makes no difference. A meeting recorded in a video call, in person, or by upload is handled the same way.
